THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT VERSAILLES

Maria Antoinette, Sophia Coppola, John Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld are only a handful of the very fashionable personalities that have walked the halls of the Chateau de Versailles.  This beautiful palace, home to the last Dauphin of France, has been the set of many contemporary films, advertisement, and fashion editorials. The latest fashion event held in the gardens of the palace was the Chanel Cruise 2013 collection a few days ago. This post is dedicate to my top Versailles fashion moments.

Another Favorite Versailles fashion moment has to be the last Dior commercial called Secrete Garden directed by Inez and Vinoodh. AMAZING!!!

When John Galliano was still king he presented an amazing Haute Couture show inspired by the impressionist and modern painters. It was the held in the palace of Versailles and was part of the celebration for the designer´s 10th year anniversary with the house of Dior.

And last but not least, Sophia Coppolla and her divine Marie Antoinette film played by Kirsten Dunst.I think I have watched that film about 20 times in my life.

THE SECRET GARDEN

I was asked in design class to make a mood board inspired on the word serenity. For me serenity can be translated into a summer garden. I believe we come from nature and we die to become nature. My serenity is being aware of belonging to this cycle of life and respecting it. Before I start sounding like a total hippie I will show my mood board and a few other serenity inspired images for this sunny afternoon.

ALDEA, COLOMBIA´S LATEST "IT" BRAND

Growing up in Colombia in the late 90´s the fashion scene was really lame. Designers only made things for country club mom´s and there was never a new point of view.  In 2010 I went back to study there for a year and everything had change, I came to find a new generation of young designers who are creative, hard working, and most importantly have different points of view. I want to dedicate this post to one brand in particular that I think has the potential to become one of Colombia´s leading fashion houses. ALDEA is spanish for village but i have a feeling that this brand is going to be adored all over the world.

FROM COCO TO CABARET

There is nothing more sexy than Portugal. The hot climate, the wet beaches, the tan boys, the small skirts it´s just sexy all the way.
