When the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo died, her husband Diego Rivera ordered that all of her clothes should be locked for 15 years. Now her legendary wardrobe is on display in her former house La Casa Azul in Mexico City. The exhibit is called Appearances can be Deceiving and is divided in two parts disability and ethnicity. Frida has to be my favorite Latin American fashion icon because of the way she stayed true to her Mexican roots, and how she showed her soul and her spirit throughout every detail of her clothes.
